Saturdays at 9:30am sharp is a very important time for Jack, Melden and Angie. They all go to story time at the library. This Saturday they were all told they could not go because they had other things that their parents had told them to do first. But they sneaked out to the library. The story being read was about a boy that was sent out to pick up his little sister birthday cake. On the way home he ate half of it. This made them think of what their parents would say if they knew they had disobe [...]

This book is about some friends who wished to attend story hour on Saturday but all ad chores or responsibilities at home. They all decided not to do them but pretended they did and then went to the story hour. When they got there, the story was similar to the things they had done. They felt guilty and left the story to return to their tasks. They worked together to complete their chores and felt happy in the end. This is a beautiful story to use to teach children about lies, responsibilities, a [...]

We really enjoyed this story. It shows how easy and tempting it can be to shirk your duties and responsibilities for things that you'd rather be doing (does that apply to logging books on when I should be doing our taxes?!?). And it also shows how good it feels to do things the right way, no matter who is watching. Our girls enjoyed this story and I will get back to my taxes

This book was in a list of books about naughty characters from "How to Get Your Child To Love Reading" the illustrations were funny. Especially Sheldon's brothers playing with paint.

Great story about responsibility and working together. I love that they all shirked their responsibilities to go to storyhour, though. I'm a sucker for a goody two shoes!
