A meta approach to the study of currency and exchange from an anthropological perspective. Incorporates 20th century enabling technologies as media of exchange and attempts to reverse perspectives of money/currency in terms of locus of power. Very interesting read.

Wonderful book by the fellow who's putting together a conference at Cerisy on Marcel Mauss. The idea is to try to find a use for money in society to bring us closer rather than alienate us.
