I downloaded this book with some ambivalence-I like historical and science fiction, but vampires aren't my thing.Well, I was pleasantly surprised! What Ms Ross has done is take the vampire metaphor that is so prevalent in all sorts of books right now, and merged it with a cozy campus novel and a slightly philosophical time-travel novell told through the very funny voice of the "Timeslider Cat" of the title. It sounds like the mash-up should be weird and unwieldy, but the great thing is that it w [...]

This Novel was a wonderful surprise. From the first moment I opened it I was completely immersed in this literary world. The humor is witty, the characters are well developed, and the world building is absolute. This book is a must read for a Sunday afternoon and I am very glad to have it on my shelf.

The summary for this book sounds like a mature version of Lloyd Alexander's middle-grade book "Time Cat", or what "Time Cat" grew up into! May have to pick it some time. (See what I did there? Lol!)

I went knocking on all the doors for blocks asking if they’d seen my poor “Tiger.” But alas, I never found him, and had to deal with my first loss in life. So, I’d like to think I’ve finally found my Tiger, wonderfully reincarnated as Kikki in this story. As you [...]

Timeslider was an enjoyable, easy read that combines cats, time travel, adventure and the paranormal. I’m a fan of all that, and this novel was a good mix that kept me interested and enjoying the ride.Cherokee Stein Ross’ style was straightforward, steadily paced and lightly humorous. The world she built was pretty much our normal modern world, but within that was an imaginative vampire world as well as travel to the past. And of course, you see it from the eyes of the cat, which was an imag [...]
