      I borrowed this from the library and read most of it over lunch, the rest on the short bus ride home. This book is more of a pamphlet.But, quite honestly, it's still much longer than it needs to be. The chapter titles alone, the actual Ten Commandments of Comedy, are the only real meat to the book, a neatly laid out list of things anyone writing and performing comedy must know to get the laughs. The text of the chapters really just explains the self-explanatory title names, and most of it is flu [...]

      I was impressed by how good this very short book was. Just like comedy, it is succinct and yet powerful. You can tell Gene Perret boiled down a ton of wisdom into his Ten Commandments of Comedy.
