Different spin on dragons with Koishi being the gatekeeper to another realm. I enjoyed his warped sense of humor and general tomfoolery. Sandra was a pretty good heroine as well. I liked her motives for seeking out the dragon. Cute HEA ending.

I LOVE DRAGONS!!!This paranormal romance is a great read for any shifter, fantasy or fellow dragon lover out here. There’s humor (I laughed quite frequently), action, magic, adventure, romance and a hot dragon shifter all in a new world for us all to escape with and enjoy!Sandra is beautiful, brave, strong and very desperate in the worst way to find a cure for her sister’s illness, she’s the last family she has left and will do anything to make her well again. After spending a lot of time [...]

It says the dragon gatekeeper's place is set in Japan. Please have Japanese culture? (Or some references?)3.5 fiery stars! It was a great story at the start! I could see the dusty scenery, feel for the characters, and flip through the (kindle) pages quite quickly. Then it slowly began to become a little too underdeveloped after the middle half. The characters made their choices a little too quickly, I couldn't feel as much for them, and I didn't flip as fast through the pages. It's a good story, bu [...]

I couldn't put it down!I LOVED this book. This is true-to-form Annie Nicholas writing; captivating, steamy, funny, descriptive, action-packed and an ending full of happy.Sandra is definitely a no-nonsense heroine. She doesn't take any guff from Koshi, and she stops at nothing to complete her quest.Koishi cracked me up to no end. Not in a slapstick kind of way, but a "I'm a zillion-year-old dragon and I've earned the right to screw with people" kind of way.The ending was definitely happy, and thi [...]

DNF. Just wasn't what I expected (from the description, it sounded like dragon was a virgin. He was not. He had many women over the years though he never loved anyone before). Others may enjoy this more. It is meant to be light-hearted and playful.

It was funny! And touching! and I want a sequel. The ending was rushed. I think she just might need to work on endings because the other book I read had an abrupt ending too

I would like to thank Bewitching Book Tours for allowing me to host this review on my blog. I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a quick, fast-paced read that kept me reading from the first page till the last. Having my own sister who is sick and battling for her life, I can totally relate to Sandra. Would I do anything I could for my sister to make sure she would be healthy? Absolutely. Face down a dragon? Without a doubt.Yes, because of the connection, I did cry a little at times for Sa [...]

Ok I'm gonna admit that the first thing that attracted me to this book was the Japanese name as a title since I have a kind of crush on anything Japanese XD but after reading the summary of this book I'm attracted to it more and more - I liked the heroine and her intense determination to do what she must and it shows that she's a woman with a strong backbone for doing what she did ^^- The hero was kinda cute XD he's always playing jokes since he has lived like forever and with nothing new to do- [...]

This story was really cute and I was enamored of Koishi’s warped sense of humor—since it mainly reminded me of my own. Something’s went a little too easily, but heck I got the feeling that this was supposed to be a happy story so they weren’t so bad. The only thing I will say is that the relationship between them grew a wee bit too fast, but that happens a lot in this genre. It made me laugh, it gave me bubbly happy feelings while I read it, and also it had dragons duh. Dragons usually m [...]

As reviewed on Read Our Lips:A quick, fun read with a Dragon/Gatekeeper on an island in Japan and a woman on a mission to save her younger sister. Sandra´s heard rumours about a magical item who could heal anything, and with her sister terminal ill, she sees no other solution than to travel to the island and meet the Dragon. Another great read from Annie Nicholas with shifters and smutty fluff.

4.5 Stars. This book totally surprised me. It had charm, wit, laugh-aloud moments, hot sex, dragons and dwarves. The story was well executed and the technical details left nothing to complain about, however the joy of this book was it's unexpected, down to earth humour. Loved it.

Arrogant and needyThis hero has been at his job for eons, long enough to get bored. Then our heroine appears and batters with him to obtain an item to heal her sister. What neither planned was to fall in love, nor the pain of separation.

My Lady Danu has bid me thank thee for the honor done her when thou didst submit thy novel, Koishi, for her review. In this new endeavor of hers, she is learning much about this plane, but feels she will never fully understand parts of it. However, she finds this new technology of e-books fascinating, providing an immediacy she wishes to share with her offspring. They, though, seem determined to remain hidebound – no pun intended. She wishes me to convey to thee, firstly, that she has long been [...]

Koishi was one of the nicest and funny readings I have done lately. This book by Annie Nicholas it is a little outside the usual patterns of paranormal fantasy, her dragon has a peculiar sense of humor and some of his jokes and behaviours, for us humans might seem politically incorrect, but actually they me laugh a lot. This is the first book in the GateKeepers Series, Koishi is about the story of Ishi, an ancient and powerful dragon, whose life is tied to be the guardian of a gate that connects [...]

Koishi: GateKeepers Series, Book 1 Annie Nicholas I received this book free via publisher in exchange for an honest review. I don't gush and give false praise – I don't believe that helps readers or authors so what you read is what I truly feel about a book. I've read some of Annie’s work before – a couple from The Vanguards series and the first in the Angler, so I knew her style is one I like though the books tend to be shorter than I prefer – but then lots of people want a quicker read [...]

There is a giveaway of this book on my blog: readergirlsblog/2013/0Koishi is a well-rounded novella featuring romance, a volcano, a Japanese shape-shifter and American woman, goblins, dwarves and a gate to protect. Add in an entertaining and spicy romance and I'd call that a filling tale. I read Koishi on a frigid evening as temperatures dipped to two degrees and for a while I forgot all about a snowstorm named Nemo which covered my world in white. Instead, I was transferred to an island in Japa [...]

It's a total fantasy trip. The Koishi/Ishi character is pretty much a dragon and I think maybe Annie doesn't like Chihuahuas too much. But dragons are elegant creatures, sly and cunning. They love their treasures. Nichols dragons guard our plane from magic beings who would do us harm. This one is [...]

I do love a shapeshifting dragon read so when I accidentally came across this one I just had to grab it especially after I read the tease blurb. I did enjoy this book that featured one mysterious dragon shapeshifter who was charged with guarding an interdemensional portal where magical (butt ugly and mean) creatures continually tried to cross over and create havoc. The actual story is engaging and the author had an unique writing style that worked to develop the different characters and the anti [...]

Ok, I will try to stop saying how awesome the dragons are LOL It’s got another unique spin on why dragons are in our world to begin with. And the whole gates, and the other side, is very cool! Sandra is beautiful and strong and on a seriously desperate mission to help save her sister from death. She is willing to do [...]
