What was an adventure, an opportunity to create an aerial survey of central Africa turned into a living nightmare for Brandon and Sam when their plane is shot from the sky and plunges into the dense jungle where even the vegetation seems to breathe with malevolence. As they run for their lives, they soon find they are not alone, but is the group pursuing a rare and exotic flower for its medicinal properties possible allies or will they become like a stone around their necks? With a bloodthirsty [...]

I loved this book! I don't usually go for the thriller/suspense type books, but this was a great story that kind of defies those categories! You're kept guessing about the "haunting" of the forest, which I loved. I like those kinds of books that keep you guessing about whether it's a true ghost story or more of a mad scientist kind of tale. I really loved the characters and the ending was very satisfying!

Blood Forest is suspense thriller, a touch of romance and sci fi, all wrapped up in a very well-written literary style. I thoroughly enjoyed it. There were numerous characters all interacting in the forest or jungle deep in the Congo. This is a long novel, hard to put down!

Funny story actually, I was recommended this book by someone saying that it was a zombie story and then realized one of the people in my family had already bought it. So here I thought I was super lucky and just never bothered looking to see what the book was actually about. I mean come on, free book, I'm not gonna turn it down.It is most definitely not a zombie book, but I will say it is still a pretty good book. I don't normally go for suspense novels but I enjoyed it. I loved that there was [...]

This book opened up at a gallop and didn’t stop. The author did a great job of developing the characters into people I cared about, even managed to do that with a character who didn’t speak English. This story turned into my favorite character archetype: the weary and beaten down underdogs who selflessly band together to defeat a monumental enemy and protect innocents with risk to their own lives. Great story, and the epilogue was the final zinger on this rockin’ and rollin’ book.

Good story line and interesting characters who are in the deep jungle of Africa. Good book for anyone who likes adventure, suspense and mystery. Who do you think is behind the Blood Forest with its magical ways? Little bit of an abrupt ending and I would have liked to know a little more of what happened with the mission and plants but that is how stories go. Also it set up for a sequel of what happens next and who was funding the big brother tactics.

Mercenaries, Scientists, and Pygmies—oh my! Blood Forest is an exciting adventure pushing you deeper into the heart of a cursed African jungle (Ituri/Congo), wherein you’re not certain what drives the sinister elements: legend or reality, paranormal or scientific. Action and unexpected plot twists prove captivating, will keep you guessing on both the political and personal fronts until the satisfying finish. Would make a great movie!

Diehard in the jungleI generally enjoyed it. The last chapters were a stretch. Brandon the poker pro getting out of the trailer predicament almost stopped me from continuing. And superman Raoul was too much to believe. Glad I read it to the end as epilogue explained Raoul. Still had to suspend reality multiple times to make it to the end.

Unusual, but I hung in and was pleasantly surprised.Great mystery. I thought there was too much hocus pocus until things started to be explained. Interesting characters and good subplots. Well written.

Taylor hits it out of the park with Blood Forest. Once again, he combines science, suspense, and unique characters that find you rooting for them, bad guys or not. The mystery that is the Blood Forest is a very, very cool idea and keeps you guessing while on the edge of your seat the whole time.

Good book I'm always intrigued by "jungle" locations. Good story, lots of action. Had a little trouble keeping the characters straightened out, but still enjoyed it.

Not bad for a Kindle Freebie. Definite plot holes, but fun read. Would make a good made-for-tv movie :)
