*I received a copy for my fair and honest review*Having been a big fan of The Salty Dog by this author, I was excited to hear that Debbie White was going to be publishing a new edition of this book as it had been off the market and it sounded like a fantastic story. The Pet Palace turned out to be just the kind of book I was looking for, a nice, inspiring tale of a young woman not afraid to go after what she wants. The romance within the pages is something I also enjoyed, really sweet and fun to [...]

Meh. Stopped reading after about 25% of the book and leafed through the rest of it. Not to my likings. It was just a list of things without the actual story, at least that's what it felt to me.Most of the book is written in 3rd person view, but in the middle of the sentence it could change to 1st person. Frustrating.

This is a lovely cozy romance. I picked it up early this afternoon and had finished it in a few hours. A young couple start a animal rescue. It's a charming story, I couldn't put down. More romance than animals.

      * I received a copy of the ebook in exchange for an honest review. *I am an avid animal lover (having six dogs, two cats and six koi fish) so this book jumped right out at me as soon as I saw it. I loved the idea of a pet rescue and the fact that the author put so much thought into it. The authors love of all animals and her desire to help them is obvious throughout the entire book. It was a very detailed thought process that charted things from the beginning to end in order to open and run a re [...]

This book doesn't have page numbers. What kind of book doesn't have numbered pages? The author didn't seem to notice that one of her characters went from being Brigett to Brigette and back again. The words 'nice', 'good' and 'perfect' can evacuate my life now, they were so overusedAs a female main character, I found Vanessa to be sorely lackingFor a Best selling novel writer, this story seemed more like a children's book. In fact, I read an excerpt to someone and asked them what they thought it ca [...]

This is JUST a three star for me, making it only because of my love of animals - seemingly coinciding with the authors love of animals. The development of the Pet Palace demonstrates this compassionate side to the author clearly! As for the rest of the book I'm all for romance, in fact it is my genre of preference however this was over the top for me. I felt that I was sitting with that cutest couple in high school who couldn't keep their hands off of each other. And no, this time I was not jealo [...]

I love pets and it is a dream of mine to have my own shelter one day which is why I downloaded a copy. Unfortunately I found it was terribly written with very basic descriptions, "he said, she said" interactions and no depth to any of the characters. I plodded slowly through it as I hate starting and then not finishing a book but it was certainly a challenge to find motivation to read it. Thankfully I got a free kindle copy from as I would have wasted my money if I had paid for it.

MehIt seemed hurriedly written and it was poorly edited. No tension, no suspense. This author must not have read the writing instruction about "show don't tell" . Most of the book was spent explaining what happened in the characters lives instead of using interactions to tell the story. But there were so many "happy endings" the book would have been as long as War and Peace Just an interesting POV.

CuteI enjoyed the story. The characters were fun and I enjoyed the positive way they interacted. I appreciated the discrete love story. Although it is certainly a romance it wasn't tawdry or cheap. I'll enjoy re-reading it!
