I received these books as part of a first-reads giveaway. What a fun little series! I have been lucky enough to receive books 2-4 in the Kiwi-Critters series, and must say I have enjoyed reading all of them. These rhyming books are fantastic for children up to about 6 or 7 years of age. The wonderfully colourful and entertaining illustrations by Rupert Shaw are sure to capture the attention of any child, as will the fascinating array of characters brought to life by author Donna Blaber. Though t [...]

I recently returned from a short holiday in New Zealand & was looking for, but didn't see, any reasonably priced children's books about the native wildlife I saw & learned about. My 3 year old niece loves books (as do I), so I love to buy them for her. It was fortuitous then to have seen & won this little book and the Author kindly also sent a second one also.I love that there are native birds as the characters, the pictures are cute & the rhyming verse that tells the story also. [...]

Fun Rhyming Book for children! This is the Book 2 of Kiwi Clitters's series, written by Donna Blaber, the author of the Insight guide: New Zealand. Same as the Book 1, it has colorful illustrations of endemic species you can only see in New Zealand (Kiwi, Pukekofern!). The story is short and easy to follow even for foreign readers like me (i'm Japanese!). I ordered the series for childeren of one of my friends who travelled and fell in love with the beautiful country. Hope the Audio book will be [...]

I was interested in this book as in Australia I haven't seen any books with animals from New Zealand as characters. I read the book to my 2yr old and 6yr old, my youngest wasn't very interested but her older sister liked it. She enjoyed learning about a new animal she hadn't heard of before and also liked the fact that she could read it herself but said it wasn't one of her best books. Overall I thought it was good and did like that it included some facts within the story but it's not one of the [...]

I won this book on a good reads giveaway, and I have to say it was completely fun to read! One of the best things about reading as a child is finding new words that you can both use and pronounce. This book, although deceptively simple, has a lot of features that makes kids question what is happening or "what does that mean?" It was also great to have a book that is so close to home and involves very cute kiwi and australian creatures!

I received this book for free from First Reads along with the second book in the Kiwi Critter Series, 'Bruce Goes Home'.It is a lovely storybook for young children and the illustrations are gorgeous. My three year old absolutely loves them and they are her new favourite books. They are great in educating young minds with new vocabulary and creatures of New Zealand. It also has a small glossary at the end of terms that may be unfamiliar to readers.Keep up the great work Donna.

I loved reading this to my niece, she cannot get enough of this series, and who could blame her! It's bright and colourful, and she learnt a few things about the kiwi bird they hadn't taught her in school. I highly recommend it for your little ones. I received this book for free with First Reads.

My 2 year old son loves the book, as well as Bruce goes home. He likes to read them both together. He loves the pictures and searching for Keri the Kiwi on the pages where she is really tiny.
