This was… pointless. Generic action, generic dialogue, generic sex between generic characters.Clumsily written, characterization thin to non-existent. It read more like a catalogue of superficial ideals than anything to really connect to.Oh no! What if he was being taking to some kind of group of serial killers like on The Following? They would either try to convert him or make him into one of them.Um. Isn’t converting him the same as making him into one of them?I’m easily confused.Identic [...]

To sum it up for meSide Character 1 tells Main Character 1 that he can borrow his tanto sword. MC1/narrator/etc then proceeds to call it the Tonto (capital T and all) through the rest of the book. Somehow I missed the part where it became named after the Lone Ranger's buddy Every time this happened (which was so often that I was ready to go search for the guy's original swords myself and make him give the Tonto (tanto) back, I would leap out of my chair with a scream of frustration and stomp off [...]

"It's meant to be" was mentioned a few times and for me it took out the excitement and mystery of their romance. The story was more on narration. I would rather have the book "show" me how their love evolved, not "tell" me how it all went. I'm not a fan of the typos and cliffhanger ending as well.

Cute story. The birthmarks were interesting if a little unbelievable. I really enjoyed it though. It was a sweet story overall. It did lack a little something. I think it had to do with depth. There was so much set up to the whole of the series that I think it did leave the actual romance story lacking. Still very enjoyable and I am looking forward to the next one.

Considering I've enjoyed other books by this author, I'm left wondering if this story was supposed to be a satiric spoof on the whole shifter/mate/goddesses thing. Ridiculously stupid dialogue and TSTL attitudes of nearly ever character made this a painful read.

Wow! Saved by the Hawk has really started this series out with a bang! Between the action, sexy heroes, humor and hot sex this book kept me enthralled with it from the first page to the last word. It’s no secret that Stephani Hecht and Jackie Nacht both are my go to authors when I’m in the mood for a fast-paced and sexy romance. Together they make a perfect writing team and I know that after reading this book, I can’t wait until the next one in the series. The blurb really does an outstandin [...]

A Birds of Prey five man warrior team is dispatched to Atlanta by their benefactor the goddess Athena to battle with the Blood Demons, spawn of the Keres death spirits who seem to be gaining in numbers.Patrolling at the nearby college campus one night the teams second in command, Hawk comes across a student fighting for his life against a Blood Demon. Badly injured in the fight Aaron expects to be taken to the hospital by the stranger who saves him, yet once Hawk spies the birthmark on Aaron’s [...]

I like Stephanie Hecht's books, but this co-written one was way below standard.Good idea for the storyline, but too much of a muddle, lacking maturity. It would be too much of a spoiler to go into detail. One error that carried through the book Hawk borrowed a Tanto sword. It was spelt correctly in its first use, but then changed to a Tonto for the duration(channeling the Lone Ranger?).They were named after their birdsOne of the Bird of Prey was 'Wren' Not sure how a wren graduated to being a bir [...]

Made it to 2 stars by a small margin. There was nothing new with this one, and the story didn't really jive with me. A goddess war, blood demons, "birds of prey", gifted humans Oh, boy, sounds like a mess of a series. I'm almost afraid to pick up the next book once it comes out. Guess I'll see what mood I'm in.

Oh God that ending was so mean! Now I am all upset and have to wait for the next book to see what's up with David & Whoever his dipshit mate is! Really liked the book, it's the beginning to a new series and I enjoyed the conflict it kept me on the edge of my seat so to speak.

cute book wish the first and Second came out back to back. I think it would have been easier to get into the series that way. Sex scene was a little boring and anti climatic
