3.5 starsOverall, Cake was a fun read. It takes you into an imaginative world between our world and the faery world. There are some great characters, danger, magic, romance.Among the many good things, one thing drove me absolutely batty: the whole oh-he's-so-cute-but-could-never-like-ME-I'm-not-good-or-pretty-ehough-but-look-at-him-he's-so-gorgeous attitude that Breena had for such a large part of the book. Absolutely. Annoying. It made me want to put the book down and walk away. Yes, I know, th [...]

I just finished Cake last night and I loved every word of it. Such a gorgeous, well-written fantasy: danger, intrigue, magic, a bit of romance but not enough to slow the story. My favourite books are "magic door" books, as even now I haven't given up hoping for my own door to magic or Faery. :) I can't wait for her next one - this is the kind of book that I want to buy for friends and family so that they can love it as well. Highly, highly recommended!

Breena disappears into the magical land of Cake, in the Faery realm. She is the last of her line that could help this realm. This book was okay. I was able to finish it, but it seemed to be missing something for me. I'm not sure exactly, but I walked away being okay with not reading anymore. I didn't care whether there was more to the story or the characters.

This book was great and extremely hard to put down. I read it in two sittings and could have easily read it in one if I had had the chance. The love the story line and especially the main character, Breena. I highly recommend this book to anyone that likes a good modern day fairy tale. I hope there is a sequel coming. I received a free copy of this book through GoodReads.

I loved this book! It was a great modern day fairy tale. The plot was interesting, the characters were well written, and fun to read. I love how the author was able to write twist in that surprised me yet made complete sense with the book. This book is great, definitely reccomend it!
