What I liked:-Madison. I really loved the main character. She and her cousin—who was the narrator for the first part—are very similar I think, but there were a couple of small differences that made them stand apart. Madison was very pessimistic, but she refused to let the people around her give up, even though she wasn’t always sure that they would survive. It was nice to read an apocalypse story from the point of view of someone who knew how to survive. She was strong, knew how to shoot, [...]

Technically, I think this book was better than the first one, Zombie Island. There were less grammar mistakes, the writing style was improved, and the characters were relatively more complex. Also, there was plenty of zombie fighting to keep one satisfied. So, the author, Ms. Hoffman, did well there. However, for me, I just didn't enjoy this one quite as much as Zombie Island. I don't really know what it was, but this one just didn't have that spark that I loved about Zombie Island. Don't get me [...]

As are all of Samantha's others book, this one was AWESOME. It was definitely realistic and I was able to imagine myself living through this apocalypse, right along Madison.Madison! What a fantastic character. It's so rare to read a book with a great female lead and let me tell you, Madison is my hero. One of the things that I loved most was that she felt completely real to me. Terrified, but yet brave. Had dark thoughts and wasn't ashamed of them (unlike most books). She had compassion and even [...]

Wow. That was rough. I try to make my reviews constructive, even when they've not good, so I'll do my best. Pros: I thought the editing was better than the first one. It started decent. I was interested and curious about the characters. At first, I thought their relationships and bonds felt authentic. Cons:The story got more and more fear-fetched as it went on. There were so many plot holes and issues that I can't even list them all. I didn't connect with characters, didn't think their relations [...]

ok I didn't read the first one but it was good the only things I have to complain about is the ending and the way someone died in every other chapter. I was finding myself loving all the chapters the innocence and the love they had when rallying together. the characters that I thought should die lived and I guess the hope for a better place for them deminished as the story went on. Then there is Todd he was such an odd character that I wondered what maddie saw in him was it because he was the on [...]

Another book from Samantha Hoffman and it’s in my favorite category, zombie apocalypse. This is the second book in Hoffman’s Zombie Apocalypse series. It is told from the point of view of a different character and introduces a whole new set of experiences during the end of the world. There seems to be more violence and adult content in this book (226 pages on the Nook), than in the first. The characters were also much harder to like. It was like Hoffman tried too hard to get you to like them [...]

I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first. It needs an editor but that's not why. I didn't like the characters. Madison didn't feel real. She would be all touch in one paragraph and then super whiny and irrational in the next. Plus there was a lot of repetition: one person dies and another freaks out over it and places the group in danger. Then another person dies, someone else freaks out etc etc. I didn't like Todd at all. He had zero redeeming qualities and I didn't see any kind of build up [...]

This book was even better than the first one. It seemed like the author learned from her past mistakes and proof-read this one a little better, to make sure everything made sense and flowed well. The characters seemed more well developed, and I enjoyed all of the action and suspense this book had to offer. It was nice thinking that your favorite character could die at any minute.

Wow! This was such an awesome book. Definitely worth the wait. I think it was way more bloody and gory than the first book. Scarier too. There were more main characters so more people could die, and it made the book feel more real. Awesome read.

I think Samantha has done an astounding job. I loved this book, I have read it more than three times now and I never get tired of it. Reading it over and over lets me see all the detail envisioned in my mind better and better more focused every time.
