A Texas Christmas Mystery by Anne Greene is one of those books that caught me rather by surprise while reading. This one is relatively short at 87 pages but the author sure managed to pack a lot into this little holiday novella. Our two main characters Amber and Derrick have sort of a passing knowledge of one another since Derrick rents from Amber but working out on the oil rigs he’s hardly ever around for her to have gotten to know him. It just so happens that their first real encounter comes [...]

4.45 great mystery stars"A Texas Christmas Mystery" was the first book I read by Anne Greene and it will definitely not be the last one. This is a terrific, fast paced mystery and romance. I guess it has to be fast paced since it is only about 80 pages long but there is nothing missing in those pages. We get to know the characters amazingly well and I really cared about them. The mystery is very interesting and spiced up with a few red herrings.I loved the setting on the oil rig and the sabotage [...]

Ms Greene took someplace I've never read about--an oil rig in the ocean. Thoroughly enjoyed this story.

A nice cozy mystery with a touch of romance. More a novella than a novel, it is fun to read. It has a sound plot and enjoyable characters.Recommended if you want to read a very enjoyable novella

A Texas Christmas Mystery is a fantastical murder mystery. You have a romance between the suspect and the one who is looking into the murder - the female Coast Guard. Amber is New to being an Ensign in the Coast Guard. She is the one who is heading the investigation into the murder of this poor man. The murder is done on the Oil Rig and the dead body was holding something of the Suspect's. There just something doesn't seem right to her, so she and Derreck - the suspect ------ hey now I am not go [...]

At only 87 pages, this book packs a bit of a punch. The author does a wonderful job of describing the characters. The little details about what they are thinking and their actions really make the book come alive. There are also detailed descriptions about the settings. One thing I really appreciate is that the author didn’t introduce character after character. It was easy to keep everyone straight in my mind; sometimes I have to make lists to help sort everyone out! I like it when books aren’ [...]

A Texas Christmas Mystery by Anne Greene was a good story with a mystery, suspense and romance. Derrick is working on an oil rig when a young man is murdered and all the evidence points to him. Amber works for the Coast Guard and is investigating accidents on the rig. She is also Derricks landlord. Is he guilty? As she gets to know him she begins to wonder and the sparks begin to fly. This is the first story I've read by Anne Greene and will check out more of her books. I received this book from [...]

If you need a quick read that holds your attention this is it. What's not to love about a Christmas book with a strong woman character and a handsome man. Throw in a whodunnit on an oil rig and you have the makings of a good cozy mystery. This is my first read by Anne Greene, but I look forward to reading more. I won a copy at a Facebook party and I'm glad I did. The honest review and opinions are own and were not required.

Though this novel’s title is “A Texas Christmas Mystery”, its focus on the holiday season offers no distraction from the plot and can be read anytime of the year. I loved the idea of a strong female protagonist who chose a career with the Coast Guard.Amber Meredith is new to her position as a Coast Guard Ensign so she has no intention of messing up her first assignment of a murder on an oil rig. All the clues point to the troubleshooter of the company’s two hundred rigs, Derrick Darbonne [...]

Although you know from the start that Derrick is innocent, Amber doesn’t– and she’s the one he has to convince. It’s obvious from the insider perspective we have that Derrick is being set up, but by who, and why is a mystery to us all, and the author keeps that pretty well hidden.Derrick and Amber are priceless as they dance around each other, neither willing to make the first move. His shyness is so endearing! You just want to step in and nudge him along. And her misinterpretation of hi [...]

This was an okay novella. murder mystery than Christmas-themed. Derrick's Cajun background was a good different, and his job as troubleshooter on a Galveston oil rig had me thinking of Ben Affleck in "Armageddon". I appreciated how shy Derrick was around Amber, an ambitious Coast Guard Ensign who is his landlord as well as an investigator in the murder he's accused of. Amber was a little too feminist for my tastes, and while their attraction was loud and clear, I wasn't buying the "love" factor. [...]

The Coast Guard gets involved as Amber is assigned to the solve the rig‘s problems. Derrick has been set up for murder and needs to prove his innocence.
