I had the privilege to receive an advanced review copy of this story in exchange for my honest review. Madness Behind the Throne is a story full of action and adventure that will keep readers on the edge of their seat. Every story has a villain, and this story focuses on Atlantis' villain, Phoibos, and the people and events in his childhood that shaped him for the cold-blooded adult he became. J. R. Simmons does a good job of building compassion for this boy, even though he ends up taking a disa [...]

As I was reading this book I didn’t even notice the time passing. This was an excellent addition to a series that talks about the bad guy but gives no insight to him or his character. This book outlined him perfectly. I was surprised at the way Phoibos was raised and how his mother reacted to everything. Even better the truth about the bad guy that will make or break this entire series. I’m deeply in love with this story and have to say that even though it wasn’t my favorite t came very cl [...]

READ THIS BOOL FIRST:This book is the historical/back story of this series and the rest of the series makes so much more sense with this book first. However, there is one difference between this book and the rest. This book mentions a difference in time between Atlantis and the human world that doesn't seem consistent with the rest of the books. However, don't let that stop you from enjoying the series. It's a lot of fun!

This book is so bad I only made it to chapter ten.It is extremely slow and quite frankly I don't like the characters. The concept of this book is interesting but it is purely exacuted.I would not recommend this story to anyone and I will not be finishing it.Not going to go into detail about this book since it is the fourth one in a pretty amazing story.

Interesting story told from the perspective of the bad guy in the Gates of Atlantis series and his mother. It's pretty cool to get inside the head of the bad guy--this isn't something I've seen that much in books for mid-grade and young YA readers. Well done!
