Usually it seems these types of books are just catalogs of rumors and mostly inaccurate information, so I was pleasantly surprised to find this a bit more straightforward and not all sensationalism. I guess what I'm saying is that it's more like a book, as opposed to an edition of the National Enquirer.

I wasn't 100% sure what to expect when I started reading this book, but figured it would either be really well done or needlessly sensationalistic. I'm happy to report it was the former, though be prepared - this is not a book for those interested in the lives and careers of celebrities. This was pretty good. It wasn't too complicated. It was a nice run down of information, old rumors and speculation. It is broken down easily enough into categories. If you want more in depth research material about Hollywood history this might be a good place to start (the bibliography was rather extensive).

Old scandals that have been rehashed repeated in other better books. Start with Kenneth Anger's Hollywood Babylon for a much better read.

Not as much meat as I thought. Left out a lot of the 'good' stuff; this I am going to rate it as superficial.
