Whereas I had appreciated the first book of the series, I was in a hurry to discover the continuation, more especially as it was on one of my preferred characters (hint in the title): Gareth. But what I did not see coming and who is however rather logical, it is that Diana would be the lucky girl. We get back in this interesting and particular universe, full with unexpected things and bounces! Gareth is the King of Agonia, the most powerful and respected man of Jorda. Diana is beautiful. She’s the gorgeous sister, and very few people expect anything more from her than good looks. That’s certainly how Gareth, King of Angonia sees her, and when she invites him to spend the night with her, he promptly turns her down – he likes his women beautiful both inside and out. Long-time readers of this blog will know I'm not a huge fan of [...]

Not only is the King a gorgeous man but he inspires Diana to excel and prove what she is capable of. She is a sexy beautiful woman, but has some growing to do if she wants respect and love. Some of the things that happen to Diana are scary and I think Murphy handled this amazingly well. For a book with political intrigue, SF setting and great cast, this book [...]
