      The author has a good handle on the mechanics of written English and the story seemed well-intentioned. That is, the intended message was good. The two stars are one* star is mostly entirely due to those two qualities.However, Grace, one of the two protagonists, was completely unlikeable at the beginning, and even after she became less of a contemptible brat, there was a "White Saviour" vibe to her character.       Great book! I loved the characters. Well written. A great tribute to the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone!
