Olivia has always lived off her trust fund but since that is running low she needs a job. All the jobs she has attempted to try haven't worked out. She has a job interview for becoming a receptionist but nothing that morning is going as planned. So far her day is starting out as the worst day ever. Garrett is a single father and a hard worker. When Olivia runs into him with coffee coming off the elevator he can see not only is she attractive but she isn't having a great day. When he is asked to [...]

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. This is an excellent book. It's the first time I've heard of this author, and I have to say her book is absolutely fun. I'll definitely be checking out her other books. The story is an easy read. There aren't a dozen characters, so you don't have to remember who's who, and what their role is. You can just sit back and enjoy it.
Olivia's 25 years old, and she's heading out for her first job interview. It's for a job where she's actually g [...]

The New Year's Wish is my first Dani-Lyn Alexander's book and (from the blurb) I sort of expected a different feel from what I ended up having of reading it. Olivia Calloway was only daughter of (I assumed) an affluent and well-connected family with endless failure at starting her own business. Her trust fund was dwindling down so she looked for a nine to five job and ended up as Garrett Emerson's temporary personal assistant in Harris and Harris Law Firm. Her one big assignment by the firm's dr [...]

So let's start by saying that Dani Lyn Alexander is a new to me author and I absolutely loved it. She's definitely one I will add to my Want to Read lists because she crafts a story well and I really enjoyed this novella. We have Olivia, who is pretty much a hot mess in most aspects of her life. She's chronically late, she has started several business, all of which fail because she's just not equipped. She doesn't really know what she wants to do in life but she knows she has to pay the bills so [...]

Kitty's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book ReviewsThis was an adorable holiday read. Dani-Lyn Alexander mixed the sweet with the sexy and came up with a recipe for an outstanding New Year’s Eve.Sorry, but Gracie stole this story away from Olivia and Garrett. She was the cutest, sassiest little girl that I have ever read about. She showed her “diva” side from the first time she was written into the story. But, this is actually a love story about a sophisticated klutz and a handsome sing [...]

Review featured at books-n-kissesEver had one of THOSE days? Well Olivia has one of those lives. She can’t get anywhere on time. She forgets important things. She is just a mess. The problem is so much happens to Olivia that it got old kind of quickly. And giving this book is only about 75 pages that is saying something. Garrett is a single dad who is trying to make his daughter his first priority while still making a living. I liked Garrett even though really this was not his story. This stor [...]

I won this book from a Fresh Fiction contest in exchange for an honest review. This was a sweet love story . Olivia needed a job. Her trust fund is running low and she knows she has to do something. Unfortunately she doesn't have the best of luck. Never on time. Takes the dog for a walk and falls into the mud. Walking to work there is a downpour and she has no umbrella. You've got the picture. She ends up with a job as the personal assistant to Garrett, who is the vice-president of Harris and Harr [...]

Olivia Calloway has a tendency to be a bit scattered, but she's made a plan to turn things around by New Year's. First things first, find a job; of course it would help if she could get to the interview on time.Garrett Emerson couldn't send away Olivia when she showed up late for her interview and as such hires her as his temporary assistant.Garrett falls for Olivia's kindness and flaws; he is a bit hesitant at first because as a scorned single father he fears falling in love again.Olivia and Ga [...]

Olivia has big dreams but a dwindling bank account. She needs a job, Garrett needs an assistant. What could possibly go wrong? The New Year's Wish is a story about trying something new, taking a chance on love and finding out the capabilities you have within. These two people were different in that Garrett knew the importance of responsibilities, Olivia needed to learn how to be responsible. Olivia's heart was her compass and Garrett was less of a dreamer and more of a realist. I enjoy reading s [...]

This was such a great feel good book! Olivia is looking for a job but has so much trouble with being on time etc When she goes for an interview she is a mess, god knows she tried, getting coffee to bring but then getting it splashed on herself. Garrett sees something he loves in her - and his daughter gracie falls in love with her. Olivia is such a sweet and endearing character who wouldn't love her. She is given the New Years Bash task which leads to a wonderful conclusion.

This was a quick and easy read, the characters made me smile how they interacted and I found it to be generally a feel good novel. The way the story flowed was lovely and whilst I did guess the ending quite early on and it was a little bit predictable it was still a lovely way to pass a few hours. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
