I bought this at a yard sale down the street from us. This is a book I wish I had had right when Natalie was born, but since we've gone to story time so much, we now know most of the games in this book. Since we no longer need it, I'm going to give it to a friend as part of a baby shower gift. I liked a lot of things about this book. There are lots of illustrations of parents with babies for baby to look at as well as big font for older children to read. The games are clearly labeled as to what [...]

A nice resource for parents who are trying to remember any of the usual infant-parent games to play with their baby (other than Five Little Piggies) or who want to learn some more. In addition to Peek-a-boo, Shoe the wild colt, and This is the Way the ladies ride there are see-saw sacradown (for bicycling the legs), a number of verses for knee-rides, toe-naming games, verses for facial features and body parts, as well as practicing rolling, waking up, and going to sleep.

The illustrations are quite nice--many of babies with fathers, and babies of different colors. The rhymes themselves tend to be too repetive to give this book and excellent rating--too many toe-counting ones to remember. But this is still a good book with lots of little rhymes for babies (although I just did it with my five year old and he had a lot of fun getting tickled by mommy!)

There were a few games that we liked to play with our son. The illustrations, my wife says, were "cute." And, "some of the games were confusing." Maybe we just weren't as familiar with them. It seems to make a game more fun if we had played some version of it with our parents. We did find a few that we tried that were new to us that are keepers.

Simple, fun games to play with baby and good illustrative instructions for each game.
