      A fun book of players and owners trying one last chance to make it to the Major Leagues. I learned a lot of how Independent Leagues operate, the rivalries, the promotions and the long hours during the season people put in. A fun read.

      In a way, this book is great despite its author. At its best, it explores the heart and soul of baseball. If you love baseball, you will probably enjoy most of this book. The stories about the game and insights into the lives of players, team personnel, and fans are the best part of the book.
