Title character Henry dreams of animals made of different types of food and is happy to find many of those ingredients incorporated into his breakfast when he wakes up. This cute concept works well in the board book format. The mixed media illustrations are a welcome treat as Henry, who is stick figure-like in simplicity, meets sweet animals crafted out of real foods. White backgrounds and simple line drawings place further emphasis on the food items. This simple tale will appeal to young childr [...]

This book is genius. The illustrations are mostly made from food—which as been done before—but they're all foods that are easily recognizable to a small child (like my two-year-old). He adored pointing out his favorite foods on each page, and at the end when Henry gets his breakfast—well, could there be a better ending to a night full of hungry dreams?

I won this in a giveaway! It's an adorable board book all about food! Who doesn't love food?! Kids will enjoy pointing out all the animals mad of recognizable pieces of food and the board book is durable enough to stand a few bites from hungry kids as well. Cute and engaging.

I always like a good rhyming book. Everyone makes a big deal about this book being about nutritious choices, but I appreciate it doing that by being deliciously beautiful instead of preachy. (I'm looking at you, red pepper yellow squash!) it is a breakfast book, though, so no bedtime focus.

Henry is very tired and closes his eyes to go to sleep. When he's asleep he begins to dream. He dreams about all of his favorite breakfast foods that have turned into animals. He invites each of the animals home. But as he invites each one, he gets more and more hungry. Thankfully he woke up to find that his mom had made him a delicious breakfast. This is a darling board book will definitely be a hit with toddlers. I won this book from a giveaway and it is really cute. It promotes healthy eating in a fun and creative way. The pictures and rhyming text are spot on for the audience, and we had fun identifying which foods were used to make Henry's dreams. Her next book has just been added to my "to read" list.

This board book for toddlers is adorable, colorful illustrations and wonderful story about a boy named Henry that dreams about animals that are in the shape of food. Mommy has his breakfast waiting when he wakes up in the morning hungry. I received this book free through Giveaways for an honest review.

I love books that mix photography and simple illustrations, and this is no exception. I wish it were bigger so I could share it at storytime, but alas, it is a tiny tiny board book.

This was a very cute children's book! It rhymed and the pictures made out of food made my son laugh. It was a young book for my 6 year old, but it was a book that he can read.
