I found this an unusual book. In the very beginning I wasn't quite sure where the story wanted to go But I soon got into the rhythm and found that the story flowed.I liked the characters--Louise was quirky, but also impatient and sometimes sounded younger than her age. Cody was at times too good to be true but also a terrific counterpart to Louise. I noticed that the author was extremely good in writing dialogue. I could actually see the person talking . I guess my biggest critic would be that t [...]

This is the second book in the Maniototo Skies series but can be read as a standalone. This is the story of Louise and Cody. Louise doesn’t feel like she is good enough for Cody. He is a good looking, successful with a gorgeous girlfriend. When he drives home with her from their University trip and ends up working on her father’s farm. Louise couldn’t forgive herself and Cody couldn’t forgive his father. Neither of them was going to prosper until they learnt to forgive.I loved the relati [...]

*NOTICE: I received a copy of this ebook through Hidden Gems Romance. This is my voluntary, independent and honest review.* A Remembered Land is a fascinating book. Set in the Maniototo district of New Zealand's South Island, much of the story takes place on the farm (in the USA we'd call it a ranch) of the Owen family. Beautiful topography is not the point here; the true landscape of this novel is the thoughts and emotions of the characters. Daughter Louise Owen is a brilliant young woman, gift [...]

I found this a difficult book to read at first and had to put it aside. It wasn't clear where the story was going and, frankly, I didn't like any of the characters.Louise was incredibly prickly and I was beginning to wonder what the big secret was. Why was she having anxiety attacks? In the same vein what was Cody's secret?I did eventually manage to read the book and it did improveOnce on the family farm it became clear that the story was about forgivenessLouise couldn't forgive herself and Cody c [...]

This was the first book I have read from Anya Forest and I found it to be an interesting story about love, understanding and forgiveness.Louise doesn't feel like she is good enough, especially for Cody. He is good looking, successful with a gorgeous girlfriend. When he drives home with her from University and ends up working on her father's farm. When he ends up breaking up with his girlfriend and Louise ends up speaking a lot of time with Cody. Can she move past her demons to find love?I found [...]

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. The first thing that drew me into this book was the fact that one of the main characters suffers from severe, crippling anxiety. I have severe anxiety, so I felt that connection. Louise, with the help of Cody and her parents, has to work through her past mistakes in order to have the kind of future she wants. Cody also has his own set of secrets and issues. Together they help each other grow and make each other better. A really great boo [...]

This book was light on the romance and heavy on the bickering I did not like the heroine, maybe because I did not understand her problem. Maybe the author should have explained it better way to much chit chat around the table about nothing, lots of filler, not a lot happened. Too much fighting, I loved Cody, but could not connect to this couple. I really do not understand how Cody could fall for Louise as she was pretty nasty most of the time. Too much secrecy in the book for me. I was gifted th [...]
