3 Gossip Loving StarsIvy Turner's managed to lead a drama free life up until now. She left her small ranching town in Oklahoma for college life and an eventual M.B.A. Now back in town to help run her family's ranch, her life's suddenly turned upside down with one tawdry post on a popular town gossip blog.…Obviously, there’s something behind this rumor, and my feeling is that Ivy is most definitely guilty of sleeping with at least one of the brothers. And oh my, that certainly was a large box [...]

If the Fair Grove, Oklahoma rumor mill is to be believed, Ivy Turner is a bit of a floozy. I mean, one woman caught red-handed with four different cowboys? Brothers, no less. If that's not a small town scandal, I don't know what is! Ivy, of course, knows that the rumors are unfounded. However, she's unable to defend herself because she's somehow found herself the keeper of secrets for all of the Deathridge brothers. To set things straight would mean to betray their trust, and that's just somethi [...]

This review is based on an ARC provided by the author and/or the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion.3.5An astonishing example of a tyrant of a father forced this rumor to take place. If you are THAT interested in someone you shouldn't lie about doin the nasty with her. Ok I would hope he'd be proud enough to say something but when faced with his choices realistically I understand the lie, but I want a man's man for a H.

★Received a copy from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review★Never having read a book by Carter Ashby I wasn't sure what I was in for. I can't say I was disappointed. The writing was great and the storyline flowed easily enough. It is written in many POVs so that did take some getting use to. In order to truly grasp the storyline I felt they were necessary though. I enjoyed getting inside each characters head. It gave me a better understanding of the type of person they were. Let's just [...]

With all of the scandals going on around the small farming town, somehow it’s Ivy’s fling that made it into the public rumor mill. Word on the local gossips vlog is that Ivy is sleeping with one of the Deathridge brothers, her lifelong neighbors and sons to the most terrifying, stubborn man in town. But Ivy can’t deny the rumor – because it’s true. However, she’s hiding secrets for all of the brothers, and to tell the truth would mean exposing secrets that aren’t hers to reveal. I [...]

She’d set herself apart by choosing career over family, as if one couldn’t have both, and was therefore outside their sphere of interest.“First, we see that woman was created from man. That she was made equal to man, but for the purpose of supporting him.” Ivy sank into herself a little. It was so conflicting, hearing thos [...]

A murder, a mystery, an abusive dick, a dozen or so secrets and one nosy ladyYeah this book was okay but like everything and the bathroom sink was in this novel. It was just way too much for me to follow to actually enjoy it. Heck, there was 10-15 different characters and they were all intertwined. So too much distraction for me to be completely happy with this novel, as is, it's 2 star book.

A Not-Quite Review forIt Took a Rumorby Carter AshbyRANT Normally, when I read a book for review, I put on this imaginary “reviewer’s hat.” I keep an eye out for everything from poor editing and plot holes to f-bombs and more. I then take those notes and try to calculate to whom- both within my circle and on the internet- I’d recommend a given work. Essentially, when reading an ARC or another piece, knowing I will be writing a review, there’s a completely different mindset involved.W [...]

" was hardly an affair. They'd had one momentary lapse in judgment. One illicit moment." This novel initially comes across as a sweet, small town romance but I was surprised to find that it was far from it!Ivy Turner has been running her father’s ranching business since her mother passed away. She’s college-educated and came back from the big city with more polish than the farmgirl who left. Every year, they make an offer to neighbouring rancher, Gideon Deathridge, to buy their property but, [...]

What a fun read!Ivy Turner has returned home after getting her business degree in college, to help her widowed father run their ranch. For years, they have attempted to buy a portion of the neighboring ranch from the Deathridges, but the patriarch refuses to sell. And seems to hate them. Soon, Ivy is the object of the attention of everyone in town as small town gossip Myra - who has a website with video blog no less - announces to everyone that Ivy is sleeping with one of the four Deathridge bro [...]

I found this novel was quite different from what I usually read, in the respect that it's not an out and out romance or a thriller, it's more like a game of Chinese whispers with more to uncover than anyone could realise. It has a bit of everything, it's got secrets, lies, mystery, humour, heartbreak and of course, a little bit of forbidden romance.Ivy Turner is the current victim of her small town's gossip mill. The question on everyone's mind is which of the Deathridge brothers is she sleeping [...]

This book was both light and then it had some heavy things happening, It deals with gossip, infidelity, murder, and a whole lot of other things in a small town. Anyone who has any experience with dealing with small time life can relate. Ivy Turner's life was turned upside down when her life became fodder for a gossip blog. In know time at all Ivy has 3 secrets in addition to her own to protect. I loved Ivy, she was sm [...]

Wow, wow, wow!! Ivy Turner and one of the Deathridge brothers. Which one was it? Between Jake, Dallas, Cody and Boone many secrets are revealed to our little Ivy, but how many secrets can she keep and not crack? I loved this book. A first read by this author but definitely not my last. It was full of everything you could want; mystery, forbidden love, laughs and heartbreaking moments. I loved getting into all the brothers heads and not finding out the answer to our question but gaining more righ [...]

What a funny story! Ivy Turner is the center of small town gossip and she hasn't even done it. Jake Deathridge is one of four sons working on the ranch and under the iron thumb of their father. Myra the town gossip has been writing how Ivy is seen all over town with each one of the Deathridge boys at one point or another. The only one Ivy is messing around with is Jake but she ends up keeping secrets for all of them and her friend Molly until Molly ends up dead. All hell breaks loose after that [...]

Cowboys behaving badly? I'd say the whole town had some behavior issues that made one of the most interesting reads I've had in awhile. Ivy is the perfect heroine. She is smart, cute, and goes to church while questioning what she is told. I loved her. She tries to be a good girl, in spite of what the town's rumor mill says. But, when the rumor mill is upstaged by murder, we find out Ivy is also a strong woman. The book explores her relationships with the town and her family. I was intrigued by th [...]

I absolutely loved this book about the small town rumor mill. The characters are so likable and genuine. The plot has many twists and turn, as we try to figure out which Deathridge brother Ivy Turner has her hooks in. Hilarious at times, this story deals with real issues like adultery and realizing ones sexual.orientation. This is my first book by this author and I can't wait to read more.I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Carter Ashby doesn't just tell a story with this book, she immerses you in a drowsy southern town, plops you in a verdant pasture, hoists you on a horse, and makes you feel as if you are right there with Ivy and those Deathridge boys.Ivy has lived in her small town her whole life, aside from a few years in college and business school. What harm can one little rumor do? If you live in a small town and find yourself rumored to be sleeping with one of the towns infamous Deathridge brothers it can do quite a bit of harm! Especially if the rumor is true! Ivy Turner has returned to her small town and family ranch from college, and has taken over the business side of the ranch. CAUTION…Gossip hurts people. Don’t gossip. Don’t listen to it, share it or start it…the outcome can be very, very, very destructive. Just a side note: Our old pastor told us the story of a group of church gossips who loved to talk about the “what’s what.” Well, it turns out one young married man had his car seen parked several times at the home of a young woman in town. The gossip got back to his young wife (and new mother) who was battling post-partum depression. When he came home [...]
