I was lucky enough to read an advance copy of Nashville by Heart! Fans of country music will love watching spirited Gillian follow her dream to Nashville only to discover that she can’t run from who she is. Forkner’s touching romance shows us that sometimes in order to move forward in life and love we must first confront our past and those who’ve hurt us. This fast-paced story mirrors the hectic music business, providing the perfect backdrop for Gillian and Will’s bumpy road to happy-eve [...]

I was looking forward to a short and sweet romance story but unfortunately the book didn't really turn out to be what I expected.I liked the Nashville music setting and the first meeting between Gillian and Will was very promising. But the characters and the development of their relationship turned out to be my biggest problem with the book.I found the story rushing through things way too fast, the characters meet and suddenly there are kind of together for a while. I missed the chemistry buildi [...]

Good pace, good characters, nothing mind blowingThis is a tidy little story which is lovely if you like tidy little stories of living happily ever after. There are no shock, twists or sudden upsets. I liked this as I was expecting that from other reviews and it delivered a well written clear novel. I found the characters plausible and engaging. There were a bit simplistic but it suited the style well. This is not for the reader looking to be challenged but if you want some nice fluff to pick up [...]

**received an ARC from net galley**Wonderfully written and fun story to read. Songwriter and country music singer Gillian Heart shows up for an interview with an agent, but she doesn't get the appointment because she forgot to be herself. A chance meeting with Will Adams in the lobby makes all the difference. She's the real deal when she's herself: small town country girl, and Will finds that attractive because he's a small town country boy, too. A second chance means a possible record deal, but [...]

Nashville by Heart was a cute novel. But the focus was all over the place. The beginning of the book is how Gillian is trying to get her music career started, and at the end there is no mention of it. Also her "mentor" is only in a few chapters in the beginning and then gone. Dorothy makes the cut, but barely. It was a good read, but there were almost too many ideas at work.I received a free copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review from NetGalley.

I loved this story. Tina Ann Forkner made you fall in love with Gillian from the beginning of the story. A sweet story of a young woman, going to Nashville on her own, trying to get into the music business and yet, her heart still belongs to the small town where she was raised.

I loved this story of a young girl pursuing her dream of being a professional singer. Along the path to her successful career, she also finds love. The best part is that she remains the sweet small town girl after she achieves her dream.

*I received a copy of this book as part of LibraryThing’s Members Giveaway program in exchange for an unbiased review. Brief plot spoilers may follow.*Nashville by Heart tells a story that in theory, we’ve read before. Sweet, humble, small-town girl moves to the big city in hopes of making her music dreams come true. What makes Nashville by Heart different from the mold is all due to the author. She took a typical skeleton and made it something heartwarming and honest; she kept it true to sm [...]

Nashville By Heart,  Tina Ann ForknerReview from Jeannie Zelos book reviewsGenre:  Romance, I loved Tina’s The Real Thing, and looked forward to reading this. I loved the setting, all things music at Nashville but the story was just too “cute” somehow, a sweet read, a HEA which I love but it lacked the drama and passions of The Real Thing I felt. I do need drama, things to go wrong, to feel that there’s a real chance the couple won’t make it even when I know of course that they wi [...]

This was such a cute book. If that is what you need in your life at this moment, then this book is perfect. If you want something a bit more in-depth than that, you won’t find it in Nashville by Heart. Nashville by Heart is all about a 25 year old girl named Gillian trying to make it big in Nashville. But of course, she finds love but might have to give it up if she wants to have a real shot at making it big. The plot was exceptionally fast paced. The story just seemed to zoom by and it never [...]

I loved this book! Gillian was a small-town girl with big music dreams. She is the daughter of musicians who took separate paths. Her mother stayed in the small town to raise Gillian. Her left for the fame he found in Nashville. Gillian heads to Nashville to follow her dreams but is determined to not give up who she is. She wants nothing to do with her father and his name on her, so she tries to make her dream happen purely by working hard and pushing through. After 3 years in Nashville, Gillian [...]

I got that book for free in exchange of an honest review. What can I say? I, again, haven't my new favorite book, nonetheless I spent a nice day reading this little book. Let me explain. I love a nice common contemporary novel but! God, the clichés! I'm okay with one or two but not an entire book. Characters were quite stereotypical Nashville type of people, way too much. The couple story and evolution are again super stereotypical. You don't get to feel any attachments to them and it's a bit o [...]

Nashville by Heart, the latest novel by Tina Ann Forkner, follows Gillian through her challenges as she begins a career as a country singer in Nashville, learns to deal with her father who abandoned her, and not fall in love at the same time. Of course love conquers all in the end. Forkner does a nice job depicting Nashville. Unfortunately the novel doesn’t have the depth of The Real Thing, or Waking Up Joy, for that matter. The main characters are stereotypical, one dimensional and perfect. G [...]

Gillian is pursuing her dreams of being a singer in Nashville and has a chance meeting with producer Will. This book started out a little cliche and corny for me but it picked up and was more genuine by the end. I liked Gillian. She's determined to satisfy her goals and let nothing, including her hangups with her parents and a budding relationship with Will, stand in her way. Will was instantly attracted to Gillian and wanted to help her fulfill her destiny and at the same time longs for a relat [...]

Like all relatinships, there are ups and downs. The only thing that drew me back was her naivete. At times, she felt more like a teenager. This was a well writ [...]

I'm a sucker for a man in jeans & boots, but give him a hat, a southern accent and make him as sweet as Will, I'm in love. I'm also a fan of country music so this book really hit on all cylinders for me. I enjoyed that Will and Gillian fell for each other in the lobby before they knew who the other was falling because of the other's status, job or money. Although I like a rather quicker-paced book to keep things moving along, about 3/4 in it started to get very rushed & alternated from W [...]

I won this book as part of a member giveaway on Library Thing. I really wanted to like this book more than I did. Everything just happened so quickly for the main characters. Also I thought it was going to focus more on her music career than it did but after the beginning of the book it's mentioned sparsely and what is mentioned happens pretty quickly along with the romance. Another thing, Gillian spend the whole book distracted by the fact that her father abandoned her and then that story line [...]

Tina Ann Forkner does a good job of interlacing the country music scene with Gillian’s small town insecurities and homesickness. Throughout the story, Gillian struggles to balance her desire to be a singer in Nashville while being so far from her home and her mother who she is very attached to. Gillian also wrestles with abandonment issues stemming from her father’s disappearance. Throughout the entire story, Gillian allows her past to dictate her present and she consistently battles herself [...]
