      I LOVED THIS BOOK WHEN I WAS LITTLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but it had evolution in it so it had to go bye bye. i've been searching for the namke of this damn book for months after randomly remembering it and i'm so happy to find it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      This was a pretty ambitious book for Jean Slaughter Doty and probably rocked the house when it was published in 1985. Sadly, this tight little tale pales in the spotlight of what we know about genetics, wild horses and Google Maps. Makes a nice change from the usual girl-and-a-horse book. It is a grim little story, though -- typical of Doty, who just can't seem to resist throwing some death and/or suffering into her stuff.Here we have a plague for modern horses that will wipe out every horse in [...]

      I think I read this book about a dozen times as a kid. Love this author for horse-related books.

      Wow "The Lost World" meets the pony book. I'd never have thought that it would work, but it does.

      THIS BOOK WAS GREAT. it is about a boy who has a pony and found a prehistoric ded horse and a foal. he rescues itd well i won't spoil it for you but this is one of my favorite books!

      I read this many times when I was younger, and loved it dearly. Every young horse-lover should read it.
