3,5 stars"I received digital copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review"When I receive an e-mail from Jeff about YA fantasy novel I was so happy because YA and fantasy just screams my name. And the cover, have you seen the cover. I'm a sucker for good covers I admit. But now comes my reason for giving 3,5 and not more. Don't get me wrong I loved the book and I loved that the main character is a guy. After reading so many perfect female protagonist this was a refresh. But [...]

I received Diamond Bonds by Jeff Kish as a Giveaway Winner and am providing my honest review.Era and Jem are two teenage thieves who stumble across a kidnapped young girl named Di. Learning that she is valuable they decide to return her home, but their journey is not as smooth sailing as the two friends had believed and they quickly find themselves trailed by assassins' and the military and soon find out Di's true worth.I was very excited to receive this book. I am trying to expand my reading s [...]

I love it when one of my reading partners say, "Didn't appeal to me at all, maybe it will be better with the next one." So, if it didn't appeal, why read more? I do agree the characters need a little more fleshing out and the plot-line be a little faster. But, I did like the story, laughed at all the dangerous situations, and couldn't keep from shaking my head at the idiot situations they get themselves into. I will look for the next in the series to read. This book cleared my mind from my munda [...]

I received a very warm and polite email from Jeff Kish requesting me to read Diamond Bonds so how could I possibly say no?? So I received a free copy in exchange for sharing my thoughts and opinions. And boy am I glad that I took him up on his offer. To say this book is great is an understatement, I was totally caught up in Era and Jema's world. They rescue Di who is just a child whom the military has kidnapped on a moving train in the very beginning of the story and it is just one adventure aft [...]

This was the first fantasy book I have read in probably 10 years but I am so glad I read this book. I don't usually read action/fantasy books (I am a female college student) but after I got used to the style of writing and the constant action scenes- I really became invested. It did take me longer to really get into it, but once I was I finished in no time. The ending was a plot twist I was not expecting and I can't wait for the next book to come out!!

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.Era and Jem have been partners in crime for almost two years, stealing their way through life, Jem teaching Era what she knows. They’re attempting a raid on a train one night, hoping to gain some valuables, when they find a young girl, the only “cargo” on an otherwise normal military train. After rescuing Di, not knowing her worth, Era and Jem attempt to return her home, overcoming many obstacles alon [...]

Pirates, Airships, thieves, political unrest, a unique magic system, trains, assassins, humor, an epic quest to save the kingdom just about anything any lover of fantasy might be looking for. The best part? It's all in one book! Where that might damage another book, this book is so carefully crafted the world is possibly its defining feature. The political aspect brings realism to the world, as the problems of the main characters stem from higher in society, and cultural differences bring confli [...]

I received this book from the author for the purpose of this review. All comments and opinions are entirely my own.Swept away by charming characters, thrown in amongst enemies, and bound to your seat as the plot unfolds. Thus sets the stage for Diamond Bonds as it captures and refuses to let go of your attention.Fast paced action with thrilling details meets the humor and complicated personalities of unforgettable characters. The story is set in a fantasy world with fantasy powers which are easi [...]

You see, it’s way easier to hate a book when the author is rude. But it’s way harder to hate a book, when the author, this time being Kish, is respectful and polite. It’s [...]

I don't know how to write a good review but all I can say is that I really liked this book!I think the best part is the magic/elemental system the author has created. It's really cool how everyone can only have one element at their disposal (unless they have some runes!). It makes for some very creative and interesting fights. The characters are all very interesting and have great chemistry together. I think just about all the dialogue feels natural and everyone I encountered felt believable. In a [...]

I absolutely fell in love with this book. It takes you on an adventure throughout. To me it is kinda reminiscent of divergent and mortal instruments. It involves runes and elements which I personally love, however this could be due to my love of TMI. Throughout the book it introduces new characters, making the plot refreshing over the course of the novel.I would highly recommend Diamond Bonds to many people in the lower YA genre. The book is mainly adventure and fantasy based, yet it has a real [...]

I very much enjoyed this book. It took you a lot of different places at different times and included a killer twist towards the end. It is a fantastic YA Fantasy read and the only real content to worry about is some fairly tame combat. The magic system like others have said is super intriguing and I can't wait to read more about it in the future installments. The dialogue wasn't perfect and had a couple words that get repeated a lot, but the overarching plot more than makes up for these minor bl [...]

At first I had a little trouble getting into the story, and I realised it was the writing style. The writing is very good, simply not as descriptive as I am used to reading. But I was quickly sucked in (and therefore didn't even notice before long). As for the story excellent! Very imaginative, but not too "out there". The story has the right amount of twists and turns the characters have the right amount of mystery and intrigue I can't wait for the next book in the series!

I enjoyed the book. It was an easy read. The characters were individuals you wanted to read more about plus they were likeable. The plot: at first I thought I was going to be reading The Last Air Bender but as I got further in the book it became its own book\ story. The one thing I liked the most was that the politics within the story was minimal It did not cloud the story like a lot fantasies have a tendency of getting lost in. Look forward to book two!

3.5 starsI received an ARC from the author for an honest review.Full review here: chocomeiske/2016/07/04Diamond Bonds is a promising debut with some interesting elements including the cool elemental magic system, and one which ended on a promising note. This is enough to leave me curious and wanting to read the sequel.

Diamond Bonds is about a guy named Era and his partner in crime Jem, who come across a kidnapped girl called Di during their travels, and they set on the long journey to take her home, for a reward. Before they know it, they have a bounty on their heads, and are risking their lives for a girl who neither of them knows. Is Di really who she claims she is?Diamond Bonds captured my attention from start to finish. In the very first chapter, we are introduced to the three main characters, and you get [...]
