      The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere is one of my favorite poems. Its prancing meter and beautiful rhyme scheme snatches me up and into its story. But I always found myself more thrilled when Revere was slipping through the British navy than when he was racing across the countryside warning his countrymen of the impending raid. This book, Day of Glory, did an excellent job of explaining and dramatizing the warning, the maneuvering, and finally the conflict between the colonists and Britain's soldier [...]

      Excellent historical fiction on the culture of the colonies, the understanding of the people in general, and the pains of foreign evasion. An excellent short story of how the war began.
