“A PARANORMAL TWIST ON STAY AWAY FROM MY LITTLE SISTER or face my irrational wrath, because I put you in charge of watching over her adult self while I was gone.” HOOKED ON A PHOENIX by Ashlyn Chase is her latest paranormal romance that follows another Fierro brother as he finds the love and romance he worked hard to avoid. The problem? Little Misty has grown up and her lifelong crush on Gabe is about to explode, right when she learns of a potentially devastating medical issue that really se [...]

I didn't enjoy this. I really was hoping I would have. It has everything I tend to love! but unfortunately I only got to 25% maybe 30% and I wasn't feeling it. It was a struggle to get into it from there onwards, maybe it was the mood or it could have been that I just came off reading an amazing 5+ read. I think for what I read, that people who love this genre will enjoy it. I am hoping I can return to it in the near futurec was received for an honest review.

This is the latest episode in the Phoenix Brothers paranormal romance series. This one focuses on Gabe who is the middle of seven sons. He's the responsible one who is quiet and reluctant to take responsibility for anyone. He has decided that he'll never marry or have children because he fears that he won't be able to care for them. However, when his best friend asks him to look after his baby sister while he is deployed to Afghanistan, Gabe agrees. After all, he liked her when they were childre [...]

**My thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**This was a decent book and the second book that i have read from this author, although it is in a different series it is still about the same family of Phoenix's.Gabs is the more sensitive brother and has decided he never wants a wife or a family of his own, however after his best friend Parker asks him to look after his little sister, a girl he has not seen for years, things take on a dif [...]

Hooked on a Phoenix is a paranormal version of my best friends little sister. It is sweet, fun and will have you heart running the gamut of emotions from anxiety and fear to laughter and love. The world is well developed and the characters are likeable.

I was really pleased to receive this ARC by Ashlyn Chase. I have read one or two of her stories previously and like her as a person. This paranormal romance was not quite what I was expecting. It was a contemporary romance featuring a large loving, supportive family who just happen to be shifter Phoenix. It barely qualifies as paranormal to me. The focus is on the contemporary romance between the steady Gabe, middle child of firemen phoenix family who find himself looking after his best friend's [...]

Ashlyn Chase has created another great series in her fascinating paranormal world with wonder and exciting characters and her own unique elements that add spice to each and every story. The Phoenix Brothers were introduced in the Boston Dragons series and now star in their very own series. Gabe and Misty are strong, captivating characters that draw readers in and hold them hostage until the very end, their romance is sweet and full of sizzling attraction and fiery passion as they work through th [...]

Did you read the Harry Potter books when they were first release. If so you might recall that Professor Dumbledore has a phoenix as a pet(or is he more of a friend/familiar). Also, that bird gave one feather, part of which is embedded in Harry's wand. This is partly what prompted me to read this book, and also because I haven't come across a phoenix paranormal book previously.Parker Carlisle is about to be stationed overseas when he asks his best friend, Gabe Fierro, to keep a brotherly eye on h [...]

3.5 Stars. This is a story about a Firefighter and Phoenix named Gabe and how he must come to terms with a childhood trauma and pick up the mantle of responsibility. For all intents and purposes, he must rise from the ashes of his past and rise from the fire of his pain to become the man he needs and wants to be.I had a hard time liking Gabe in the beginning. He was indecisive and I found his character a little soft. He made me angry when he left her to cope on her own. As for Misty, I found her [...]

I was luke warm with my feelings on this couple. Gabe and Misty hadn't seen each other for years, which allowed Misty to grow and and grow up pretty, which made Gabe notice, making his task of looking after Misty for Parker not a good thing. I had to give Misty props for going after her long time crush, Gabe wasn't sure whether he was the luckiest guy ever or a bad guy for lusting after his best friends little sister. It didn't help that after their encounter Gabe often came off as a cold fish, a [...]

This was a pretty good book. Misty has always had a huge crush on Gabe. I liked how protective her big brother was because he asked Gabe to watch out for her. Gabe's reluctance was somewhat understandable but a bit of a reach. Their first meeting amused me, because he was expecting the little girl who used to follow him and her brother around, not the woman she had grown into. Their relationship was entertaining to watch develop. Absolutely had ups and downs. I really liked how close Gabe's whol [...]

This was a good paranormal romance. The characters were engaging, believable, and likable. While this was the first in a new series it does have existing couples from what I assume is a related series. The first two thirds was very good, had a great deal of tension from the romance as well as other plot factors.Up until about the 2/3 mark this was a 4 Star book.Unfortunately the last third was sort of a long drawn out HEA scene without the drama and stress. After setting up a potentially interesti [...]

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.Overall, I enjoyed the book but had a hard time liking Gabe as he kept being so hot/cold with Misty. I guess I felt if he was really committed to not having a wife and children then stay with one night stands and don't sleep with someone who meant more!It was also disappointing that the villain of the story kind of went away so that part of the story seemed like it fizzled out.Parts were kind of funny, when Gabe was trying to come back as a phoenix [...]

Best friend’s little sister is one of my favorite tropes, and while I loved many aspects of this book, I did find myself getting frustrated with the main characters at time.I did like both Gabe and Misty individually, but when these two came together I did get frustrated at times. The whole time when they were stuck in the safe I just wanted to give Gabe a good shake and tell him to comfort Misty for goodness sake! He was so wrapped up in himself and what his actions might be perceived as he t [...]

I received a ARC of this book via Netgalley and I am voluntarily leaving a reivew. Strong characters and a great story line. I can't wait to read more from Christine's work too. I just couldn't put this book down once I started reading it. I know the other books to this series are going to be just as great too.

Gabe Fierro is a phoenix and rather fittingly, he works as a fireman. When his best friend asks Gabe to look after his kid sister, Misty, while he's overseas, Gabe is hesitant, but agrees. After all, how hard can it be?! Apparently really hard, because when Gabe sees Misty, he realizes that little girl he used to know is now a very attractive woman. Gabe tries to casually come up with a way to keep tabs on Misty so he opens a bank account at the bank where Misty works. Lucky for her, he stopped [...]

I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley for an honest review.I am loving this series! The characters and world building are well-developed. This series has laughter and has a lot of snarky dialogue.  A friend asks Gabe to watch out for his Sister (Misty Carlisle) while he is away. Gabe has not seen Misty since they were kids. Misty has had a crush on Gabe since she was a kid, and now her crush is walking into the bank and to her to cash his check.  Now here is where it gets good. The bank [...]
