I kept plowing through this story, to learn how the three threads (on two worlds and in two timelines) would come together or resolve, but that did not happen, so in the end I was disappointed. The stranded community's coming to terms with becoming primitive after living with technology was interesting. The struggle of some of the characters to hear Mother Earth or to understand their purpose was poignant. The story was also unexpectedly humorous.

This is the middle book of a trilogy (and I hadn't read the first book) so it took a while to get into this oneway more characters and a grander scope than I'm used to. Yet it was enjoyableting storylines and one of the major arcs is basically a recasting of a Biblical scenario. Interesting!
