      A terrific collection of stories: had it been written in English, I feel it would have earned its place alongside classics of the genre by the likes of Sherwood Anderson, Faulkner, Hemingway, Salinger and Truman Capote. As it’s written in Dutch, it’s bound to languish in the relatively obscure domain of “Dutch literature”, where it’s relegated to the even more obscure subdomain of “colonial literature”.Ik schrijf er in het Nederlands nog wat over op mijn blog.
