A bit of a take-off on the Outlander premise of a circle of "singing stones" that can transport through time, albeit these stones were removed from the circle and built into an archway of a building. Our hero and heroine meet at a clan gathering, get shoved through the archway and are transported back through time. I could never figure out what year it was, I recall Edward III being mentioned as England's king, and King David being the son of Robert the Bruce, so my research says sometime in the [...]

An ancient archway in time. . . A man in search of his future in the past. . . A woman who holds the key. . . Maggie Hobbs has had enough of controlling men in her life. Breaking up with her longtime boyfriend, she heads to Scotland for her summer vacation, hoping to put it all behind her—though she never dreams how far behind her it will go! During a stop at a clan ceilidh, Maggie meets the man who should be heir to the Clan MacKendimen—one whose father turned his back on his heritage for a [...]

A very interesting but different take on time travel. Maggie and Alex meet in Scotland while on vacation, coincidentally they both happen to be from the same city. Maggie and Alex seem to hit it off instantly and when Alex say's that he wishes they had more time they both find them selves being shoved through a time portal to the past. Almost immediately they are found by the clans men of Clan MacKendimen, a clan that Alex would have been heir to had his father not moved to America, and Alex see [...]

Breathtaking! I just finished reading "A Love Through Time" written by Terri Brisbin.I love time-travel romance and this one won my heart! This is the first story I read by this author and I am so surprised because it took my breath away It' an excellent time-travel Medieval adventure with unforgettable characters. I really had a hard time putting it down because I wanted to know what was coming next. I discovered that Ms. Brisbin is a great writer, she is also wonderful author! Her romance was [...]

"Time will prove if a love be true."A time travel romance that's a bit different from the rest and it's because of this difference that I loved this book so much!Maggie and Alex meet in Scotland at Alex's family (clan) reunion, happening upon each other while on a walk. While talking about home, together they fall through an ancient archway, falling back 500 years into the past. Alex is mistaken for his many times great grandfather, the MacKendimen Laird's son, and has to quickly come up with a [...]

I read this years ago and thought it was 'ok'. If I remember correctly the H and h spent quite some time apart and, for me, that caused a lack of chemistry. Because of this I never followed up with the other books in the series, ONCE FORBIDDEN and A MATTER OF TIME.Honestly, the Jove Time Passage series books are a hit or miss with me. I have found most are middle of the road or ok at best. One exception? Judie Aitken's A LOVE BEYOND TIME was exceptional. I enjoy a good time travel romance and wi [...]

Me being a time travel romance junkie, this was right up my alley. The one thing about reading this book is throughout the book there is a lot of old scottish text. They speak with the scottish accent and it is spelled out. At the beginning of the book it slowed me down as I tried to consistently figure out what they would say, but as I kept reading and the text was repeated, I got used to it, and it was ok eventually. I have to say, other than a great story I also got a lesson in old Scottish s [...]

Interesting time travel romance. Scotland. Both the man and woman go from modern times to a few centuries ago. He’s mistaken for the laird’s son and has only to go through the adjustment of being more physical and less controlled. She has to fight for her life against “his” betrothed, she has to put up with being known as him leman (they didn’t know each other prior to the slip through time). Not a bad story. Good writing.

I thoroughly enjoyed this time travel romance. I first fell in love with time travel novels by reading the great Barbara Erskine and then Diana Gabaldon but I've only read a couple of time travel romance novels and I haven't thought they were great. That is until now, I loved this book and I was impressed that the author didn't shy away from certain historical traditions and behaviours that we may find difficult to cope with now. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Terri Brisbin, PB-B, @ 1998, 12/99. A time travel romance. Maggie Hobbs, a school teacher on summer vacation in Scotland meets and American "heir" in Scotland and together they fall through an arch to big trouble in Medievil Scotland. More sex and violence than Lynn Kurland novels, but okay.

I gave it a 4 because for the first 40% or so of the book, it was a struggle to read. I had a hard time convincing myself to keep going but the story picked up and I really ended up enjoying the book.

I'd call "A Love Through Time" a middle of the road romance novel. The double time travel angle is intriguing and there are a few fun plot twists, but the writing leaves much to be desired. I enjoyed reading it, even though it's no great shakes.
