This story is about Sherlock Holmes investigating the murder of a man. He sets out to clear the name of the suspect, who Holmes thinks is innocent. It was an interesting story and was the type to make me try to figure out the ending as I read. Overall interesting, but considering the subject matter (murder/death) and vocabulary it would definitely be for older children. This is most definitely a mystery book. Got this and the other Sherlock Holmes Graphic Universe book on the cheap at NCTE. Thought it might be fun for my classroom. Story was ok, but art was rather pedestrian. Some of my avid gn readers did like these though.

Who murdered Macarthy? When two young men start fighting, a man known from the past can interfear. But when one young man is accused of the murder, things go haywire! Can Sherlock Holmes figure out who killed Macarthy before it's to late?

Oh, how I would like to live in the time of gentlemen! Although this mystery is quite easily solved after a few pages, it is still a good story, and a great reflection upon human behaviour and life.

Pardon the completion date. I finished this a while back and forgot to add it.I really enjoyed this story. It involves Holmes setting out to prove the innocence of a man that seems obviously guilty to us mere mortals. Holmes, however, is not swayed or burdened by what seems obvious, but rather is a slave to facts and logical conclusions.I don't want to spoil the story so pick it up for yourself and get to reading.
